When I’m taking pictures I don’t think of the diptychs. I don’t seek
pairs when I am shooting. But then the photos find each other, match
up and start living together, creating new meanings. Such matches have
made this photo book.
The images were shot in 2001-2017, when Internet and photo
sites appeared, returning my old passion for photography. The book
includes some pictures from childhood shot with a ‘Smena’ camera in the
late 1960s and early 1970s.
The locations are mostly Shuya, Nizhny Novgorod, and Moscow.
And the roads between them.
